I noticed the Elusive SA thread and was wondering about taking things the other direction.

Does anyone have thoughts about high attribute/low SA build running backs?

Can a speed/agility back with low SAs succeed in modern-day GLB?

He has rushed for over 1800 yards in each of the last 2 seasons. IF I opt for SAs, he's likely to wind up with something like 10,3,5,1,1 elusive (includes +Quick Cut AE - already acquired).

That's fair. They came in a bunch at the end of the season, and I can't really tell you why. But to be fair, its not like anyone can prove that throwing 2 points in Cover Up really prevents fumbles since we could go back and forth trading Builds vs. Fumbles of various running backs. Besides, you'd be hard pressed to show me the elusive OR speed backs with more than 2 in Cover Up and most of them have far less carrying and/or strength.

They can work, you still need one special ability though. No HB is gonna be good without it.

My HB Danny, is a low SA build. He just had the highest YPC average in the D league conference finals game today. With 6.9. Not bad for a championship game...and I was playing on normal intensity.

He is also a vision build. I capped vision first...then speed, I have my custom equip in Agility and one piece of +1 equip in stamina to keep it at an even 20 while I train it.

I think once I get agility to the first cap, then second cap vision...we will REALLY see what happens with a high vision build. I think that will exponentially increase the SAs.

PM me if you want me to keep you updated on his progress. I still have 3 boosts on him for this season and will level up in 2 days. SO that will go to agility. Then I can see what the last game of the season will bring. I may play that one on hard.

what does he play in? a? that guy is just playing in a lower league than what his build is worth. I wouldn't get too excited about him, until he does that well in AAA or the pro's, which he wouldn't.

That's my biggest pet peeve, a guy who swears he is great at this game because he plays in BBB or A. Personally, I don't think you can learn much by signing with teams in the lower levels of competition.

It depends on what BBB or A you are talking about, until Bort and Co. reorder. USA still has some tough teams that low that could hang in AAA or Pro in another league due to their team strength.

What is wrong with A league? Most A leagues are now 30-37 in level

Maybe I could move my guy up to Africa Pro. It would be great to play against lower level competition than what I am used to.

Maybe I could play in Eastern Europe Pro and face the 4 gutted teams a season.

I guess the level 30-35s I face every game aren't as good as the level 30-35s that are the staple of most pro leagues in GLB.

I mean, my team is thumping teams that feature players from the middle of season 1. I guess that counts for nothing. Is there a level drop off? Sure. I'd be a fool to say there wasn't. The simple fact of the matter is that half of the teams in Pro are there because the owners bought the teams there. That's right. Most of those teams have never accomplished anything other than being quick on the draw when the season 1 and season 2 "land grabs" occurred.

I'd love to kick the shit out of the Canada AAA team that your precious and obviously better (than mine) players play for. I know they must be better because they play in Canada AAA.

Your team sucks. In fact, every team you appear to be associated with is middle of the pack at best. My biggest pet peeve is when people that haven't accomplished anything decide they need to talk shit because they have players in a higher tiered league.

you're cute. the aaa team I am on was a gutted team I signed all my players to it because he needed to fill a lot of holes. So Im a nice guy what can I say. my players still did decent for being in a league with 0 gutted teams the dire wolves being the only one. and playing against pretty good competition. sure I don't get 40 touchdowns with my hb, but he did get over 1000 yards and 22 touchdowns. you people who think this game is all about stats really do bug me. and you just solidified my point. it's not like we beat most of our teams 90+ to 0 like your team did. we all can't be in such cake situations ya know. some of us take pride in playing in tougher situations. as it is very clear you do not. I also have no control over the other players he signed or how he runs his team. I have zero say on what he does. he is quite inactive and ignores tactics suggestions half the time.
we'll see when all my players get on my own team when my teams cap lifts. we'll see how they do then.

I wouldn't necessary agree with the OPer's method of debating, but I would point to USA A leagues and say that running against those defenses even as LVL 32 is tough. The average level of the human-owned, non-gutted teams in AA and AAA in USA is fairly comparable. There was a land grab in the USA teams and there are some BBB teams with players equivalently leveled to AA or AAA teams.

Where were you at when my team made the playoffs starting the season as a team of 13s in a league of 21+s?

We never asked for sympathy. We never expected pity. No one ever took it easy on us. And no, this game isn't about stats. If you can show me a better metric to compare players across leagues, I'd be happy to use it.

Did you look at those wins before you posted? Did you look at anything? Those 90-0 wins were against lousy teams, not gutted teams. My league was 100% free of gutted teams. No league is free of lousy teams. My production did have spikes. So lets deduct the 900 yards I got against the 3 worst teams we played, even though we didn't outlevel some of them. I still was more productive than you. You have brought nothing to the table. All you have said is that my guy sucks and you then you hide behind the tier I am playing in to justify it.

And please, when your team is uncapped and you move your players to it, bring a challenge. What will your excuses be then?

I never said I was the best. I never said my team was the best. I stand by my team and my players. I don't run from challenges. Bring your HB into my league and lets see what your production looks like. I'd bet you would just be another mediocre 30+ HB. We have em all over, I take pleasure in shutting them down.
