A lot of you may have seen some of my post in the QB forum about confidence. I really do not think it all that. I was wanting to know if anyone has had any luck with it for a WR or if any WR has it to the softcap.

It's not important, until you drop a pass. 4 dropped passes later in the same game and you will wish that you had put more points into it.

Yeah, it would be really dependant on your build. You'd have to drop an awful lot of passes to get a big hit. QBs are different as they're responsible for every play on offence, for WR not so much.

It is kind of important; but its basically a catch 22, if you think about it.

You need a really great build, so that your player can perform when called upon.

You need confidence, so that your player doesn't repeatedly screw up.

But if said player invests a bunch of SPs into confidence, then that is just that many fewer points that he could have had in an attribute that would have helped him play better, and not screw up.

So that's kind of the problem.

Adding points into Confidence is only going to help with that.
Adding points into Speed, Agility, etc. is going to help you perform better AND have higher in-game morale - because you'll be performing better.

So in other words, yeah its worth training to 30 or so.

But no, its not worth much more than that.

Confidence is only really necessary when you make use of rotating WR's with different types.

Possession WR's in on one set of plays, speedsters in on another set.
Make use of the possession WR's to soften up the confidence and stamina up via catches and higher strength.

use the speedy WR's to crack the low confidence and breath CB's and set them into a death spiral.

I treat Stamina and Confidence as something to do at the end of a build.

First you must make the play, once you can do that worry about doing it consistently and for the entire game.

What do you think is a good level of stamina at level 20 and 30? Did your opinion change at all this season with the new energy changes?

Confidence will be the last thing I touch on my WR, but I had to start training up stamina this season on all my players with the new energy mechanic.

I don't know...my WR has 20 stamina...hasn't bothered him to much although I'm finally getting around to working on that.

I'd say the ideal level of stamina is whatever the other WRs have on your team so everyone splits time.

You will want 35ish stamina by level 32

Thats a rough number, Id say 30-40 stamina depending on your own preference.

Remember WR's are running very fast pretty much the whole time they play as well as blocking with low strength. Their energy goes down quickly.

Yeah, I'm trying to train it to 30 at least. I figured that ending with about 80 energy is where I want to be every game on average and to keep upping it until it is there consistently.

stamina is ALWAYS a team issue and not an individual issue

sometimes you have guys like my WR that have a role on the team to make big plays when he's in, but isn't an every down type player. We (the team) decided it was more important for him to have a higher chance of breaking a big play every time he was in, than for him to be in every play. Not to mention, he gets plenty of time to recover with our WR depth and so he doesn't get "drained" and run on steam at the end of the game.

We have other WR's that can make a 6 yard catch, but he's the best chance at a 60 yard TD catch. It's no coincidence he's led the team in TD's the past two seasons despite seeing ~25 plays a game the past two seasons which is half some of the other WRs. Of course, as he grows up during his 30's but for his first two seasons with his team (and likely next season) it's still a limited big play roll.

So, the question shouldn't be what stamina is best, but what stamina is best for where I fit in with the team.

Agree with you there regarding the role affecting what you need from a build. Looking at guys with high stamina though at other positions i've seen some interesting stat production gains, so have been tempted to try it on my starting WR. It is still pretty much an unknown though at higher levels.
