I have 6 SP points, and I am wondering whether I should get Big Boot to 6, or Automatic to 4. While my stats say I have missed plenty of PATs, my team dominated most games and I figure that as a result of having no stamina, I got tired and missed them. In my last game, I went 9/9 and had a 39 yd FG.

Neither. If you're talking about your level 13 kicker, IMO, you shouldn't be touching SAs right now. I can't see your build, but there's no way your con, vis, and str are all to the soft-cap (conf to the second) and your kicking to the 3 cap. All this should be done before ANY SAs. Relax, you're only level 13.

Kicking is to the 3rd cap, strength is softcapped, and I plan on softcapping Confidence after I either get Big Boot up or Automatic. Vision I am going to train for awhile.

If you insist on wasting SPs on SAs that early, then I'd go with Big Boot.

Get your vision up to about where kicking is or any points you put in SAs will do you no good.

Vision = kicking? Really? This would be prohibitively expensive with respect to SPs.

Understood. I think he wants to know which one sucks less.

I wouldn't go that far. But unfortunately, like most SAs, you can't really tell if they're working or how well they work.

Do you want short or long-term success. If you want long-term success, stick with atts rather than SAs as mentioned earlier. For my K, I went up to the 4th cap before working on anything else. Soft capped vision and confidence next, then started with SAs while training strenght which is only in the mid-20s. But he's very reliable inside 40 yards (hasn't missed in 2 seasons and 50 FG attempts), kicking PTs at 95%, and starting to expand his range a bit (just had a friendly yesterday where he hit a 53 yarder and have kicked 3 49-50 yarders).

+1

I have my SAs at 466. Had some minor XP issues first half of last season that moving automatic from 5-6 seemed to help. Was about 80% on XPs prior to bumping it up that 1 point and that seems to have gotten me over the hump since I've been hitting XPs at about 97% since then.

Actually, he's starting to miss occasionally again having all 4 missed XPs in the last 6 games (41 of 45). I wonder if automatic is dependent upon player lvl. Might just improve automatic again and see if that fixes the problem. Definitely not a vision/confidence/kicking/strength problem.

Not bad for a level 21

Check out my guy, I simply do not miss
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=64262&playoffs=0

And just for the hell of it, heres his build:

Strength: 58.95 Blocking: 7
Speed: 25.4 Tackling: 9
Agility: 25.85 Throwing: 14.7
Jumping: 19.7 Catching: 10
Stamina: 18.2 Carrying: 9
Vision: 49.98 Kicking: 94.71
Confidence: 58.69 Punting: 8

Kicking Abilities
787

SAs have been very helpful to me imo.

I am level 20: http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=761498

I might as well open my build up, it's the offseason and most Kickers are built just alike. If someone wants to gameplan for my Kicker... I'm honored. In case I close it, my stats are as follows:
Physical Attributes ----------- Football Skills
Strength: ----- 20.2 ---------- Blocking: ----- 8
Speed: -------- 13.2 ---------- Tackling: ----- 9
Agility: ------ 13.2 ---------- Throwing: ----- 13.2
Jumping: ------ 18.2 ---------- Catching: ----- 9
Stamina: ------ 15 ------------ Carrying: ----- 10
Vision: ------- 48.93 --------- Kicking: ------ 92
Confidence: --- 56 ------------ Punting: ------ 8

I have 22 Skill Points saved, and would have at least one more (maybe 2), if I wasn't trying so hard to get some decent Advanced Equipment. =X I finally got it and will be going back to training Strength/Jumping on Intense. After I get enough points (assumably after my next level) I will be softcapping Strength and switching my training focus to Agility/Speed. While I train Speed and Agility I will be saving points to get Confidence and then Vision to it's next softcap, then Strength to it's next softcap. I won't be investing ANY points into SAs until Str, Con and Vis are all at the second cap. My Kicking will probably be beyond 100 with equipment by that time. Once I get Speed/Agility up to around 25 or so I will start working on Jumping and Tackling. =P

thanks for showing your build, i'm 5 levels behind you but my build is similar:

Strength: 54.9 Blocking: 8
Speed: 25.01 Tackling: 10
Agility: 22.71 Throwing: 14.2
Jumping: 20.2 Catching: 7
Stamina: 14.42 Carrying: 8
Vision: 48.92 Kicking: 91.86
Confidence: 60.81 Punting: 10

SAs are 5-6-5

plus your stats are sweet, so unless kicking gets nerfed again, i'm gonna follow your build, to success!

As far as AE is concerned, I'd move on once you found one that has the last SA. That'll do you good enough. At lv32, that will be worth a LOT because it costs so much extra to pump the 3rd SA.

As far as 2 posts ago, you're obv saving for strength - how are your kickoff distances? Touchbacks really help as KRs seem to go 30+ yards on average.

Kickers are pretty standard as everybody just goes 68 K 48 str/vis/conf and lets natural levels do the rest from there.

Yes, I am saving up for Strength. My distances are actually pretty solid, at least as far as I know. =P

Getting up into the 70s, never below the 50s. Averaging around the high 50s, low 60s. I am hoping that Strength will help improve that. As I expressed above I play to take the skills to the second softcap prior to working on SAs. I recently got a pair of Shoes with Big Boot on them, here in a few seasons I hope that they prove to be effective.
