What should I have the ratio at? I feel like I have a lot of speed, but I want a little more and then I want to knock agility up to catch up.

It doesn't matter. High speed should be the priority there isn't a magic ratio. I believe that agility just effects the time to accelerate to top speed. 40 agility might mean you get to top speed in .5 seconds while 50 agility might mean you get to top speed in .4 seconds regardless of whether your top speed is 100 or 10.

i experimented having my CBs agility HIGHER than his speed, and it seemed to work a dream. am considering trying it with a WR im experimenting with in slow build. i figure the inital burst of acceleration will be good in the short and medium passing game, which is what i want to build him for

There is no such thing as too much speed, only too little agility
My WR is currently sporting a 3:2 ratio. At some point, FS/QC can close the difference. Taking AGI to the next cap is +24, taking FS/QC to a decent level costs about that. So, at some point the question becomes, how much am I willing to invest in AGI to go for the hf/juke/spin moves, or is a decent agi + fs/qc enough?
Only you can answer that question. Some think 40 + FS/QC is enough, others think 50 + the fakes is enough, some want to see 60 + FS/QC, others want 70 + the fakes. Everyone builds their guy differently.
