Some cracking games ahead in the first round for both conferences. Of course i'm looking forward to our re-match with Chicago for obvious reasons (we've both improved since last game), but overall there are some close games mixed in with the blowouts.
Predictions people?
RGB vs Las Vegas-Sorry Vegas, but you've been stuck in limbo all season, it's not gonna change now. Big win for RGB, 30+
Roswell vs Fresno-Tie of the round for me, Fresno have underperformed but their passing game has shown signs of life recently. Roswell did better in the regular season but their pass D worries me. Gonna go for the upset and Fresno to steal it by a TD.
Tallahassee vs San Diego-Worst draw possible for SanD. The only team they really failed to deal with during the regular season, as the baggers ran all over them. Expecting a Tallahassee win but by nowhere near the margin of the regular season game. Tallahassee by 2TD.
Anchorage vs Chicago-Balance vs Passing. Biased but unsure how Chicago's new DC will deal with this matchup. Chicago sucked it up in the regular season matchup, but have tweaked and tweaked since. Both teams have heavily improved their pass D from the previous game, and yardage will be harder to find through the air, so favourite goes to Anchorage's better run D. Expect the Maulers to win by 3TD as Chicago's defence tires late on.
ATK vs Batavia-ATK the RGB of the east, strong team that plays to their strengths, and has the perfect season to backup that claim. No-one in the east dealt with them regular season, Batavia certainly won't now.
Holly vs Charlotte-Not seen Charlotte recently, but having seen Holly's pass D first hand I expect them to deal well with the Crows heavy passing offence. This will give Holly the edge by about 2TD.
Savannah vs Buffalo-Buffalo are known for their late boosting and surprise playoff performances. I can't however see them keeping up with a good Savannah team. Savannah by 10 points.
Pittsburgh vs New Hampshire-I like NHH's style of play, it's like ours except with a weaker run game. I also appreciate the Soldiers high scoring offence though, and fancy them to beat NHH where it counts. A narrow victory in the end but advantage to Pittsburgh in the end by a TD.
