Hands = teh fail (worthless atm IMHO, except to get other SAs to higher levels)
Lead Block = excellent (it's what we do)
Spot Blitz = pass (only because the play selection sucks currently)
Strong Arm = decent (Good to have, but not usually necessary for a FB)
Pancake = excellent (nothing opens a hole better than smashing a LB to the ground)

Cover Up = decent (useful if you run the ball)
Sticky Hands = decent (useful if you actually get passes thrown your way)
Power Thru = excellent (the bread and butter of the running FB)
Quick Cuts = excellent (not documented or proven, but I believe that this SA helps for blocking too)
Dive 4 Yards = decent (could be useful if you carry the ball a fair amount)

A good blocking FB needs way too many attributes to waste them on sub-par SAs.

What exactly would you classify as a "good blocking FB"? I do pretty damn good and have a fair amount of "sub par" SAs (at least according to you). 152 pancakes so far with 1 game to go this season. The sad part is that I'm not even a full blocking build and I'm #4 league wide for pancakes this season. Yes, I also realize that pancakes aren't the defining measure of a successful blocking FB... my HBs are averaging 6.3 YPC as well.

Never mind, just looked and saw that you're FB is only level 23... at your level SAs, are still taking a back seat to raw attributes. Although in the near future, you will probably be changing your tune.

Hands - BAD
Lead Block - Very good
Spot Blitz - Okay
STrong Arm - Very good
Pancake - Okay

Cover Up - Good if you're a rushing FB
Sticky Hands - Okay, not very useful
POwer thru - Great if you're a rushing FB
quick cut - excellent for a rusher or lead blocker
dive4yards - great if you're a rushing FB

*Hands - Pass (Hands DOES work. The penalties part obviously doesn't, but the ability to block with your hands IS useful. This is helpful when overmatched (as stated).

*Lead Block - Excellent (IMO, the #1 SA for a FB)

*Spot Blitz - Fail (Maybe more useful later, but not at the moment)

*Strong Arm - OK (you have to dumps points into Spot Blitz to get to it and it's only OK)

*Pancake - OK (Cool ability, but too expensive IMO)

*Cover Up - Excellent (My observations are that this helps you run the ball as well as not fumble. Perhaps confidence that you won't fumble helps?)

*Sticky Hands - Fail (Maybe useful more for the 3rd down and clutch situations, but teams generally don't pass to the FB and his patterns really aren't far enough down the field to need this SA.)

*POwer thru - Excellent (#2 SA IMO)

*quick cut - I'm w/ Warlock. I'm 100% positive that this helps w/ blocking. My FB blocking improved significantly due to his ability to maintain his speed down the field while blocking.

*dive4yards - OK (Good if you get short yardage and goalline carries, but is too expensive for the small impact in-game.)

Pancake is far and away the best SA for a FB

it's pretty much the only SA out there that will allow you to take out a LB and a safety fairly consistently in 1 play

false. Pancakes are over rated. You only need to hold the Linebacker for 1 to 2 seconds until the Runningback gets by

Yes, because a pancake takes a long time to accomplish and it doesn't take the player out for 1 or 2 seconds...

Seriously, the only problem with pancake, is that sometimes you pancake the guy too early and he gets up just in time to get the trailing HB.

This is a problem that needs to be fixed, IMO. At least, have the blocker stay on the defender so he can't get back up.

Ok, why are half the people saying Lead Block is good and half say it stinks...
which is it? I'm actually curious about this one as I have a Guard who rolled a piece of +1 Agility/ +1 Lead Block.
