There are 3 games left in the regular season. Few chances remain to jocky for position as we go into the playoffs. Lets take a look at where everyone stands in the West. Disclaimer: Again, these are merely my opinions. Please, no one take offense, as I'm not intending any. I will be including my own team in the rankings. Otherwise it would throw off the predictions. So please don't take that as presumptuousness or me being a cocky jerk. Here we go:

1. Caprica Buccaneers
Caprica comes into the last 3 games of the regular season with a large target on their back. 2 of the games are against teams that are currently below 500. But, after the upset @ Death Valley earlier in the season, they will be planning hard for both games so as to avoid a repeat. Their 3rd game is against their long time rival, the DVDTalk Otters. DVD's only 2 losses have come from 2 of the giants in the West that have already been defeated by Caprica. But as we all know that means very little here in the BBB#15. Anything can happen as these 2 Western Elite teams faceoff in a battle that is sure to be the game to watch in these final 3 weeks of the regular season. I've only predicted Caprica at #1 based on the fact that they're the favorite coming into these last 3 games. I know we will be planning our hardest to make sure this prediction sticks.

Caprica finishes 15-1 and holds on to the #1 seed.

2. Rapid City Rushmores
Ever since their loss to Sioux Falls in week 6, Rapid City has been steam rolling everyone in their path and look to do the same in these final 3 games. Its looking like the only club that will have anything to say about it is Death Valley. Yet with their recent losses to DVD, Anchorage and Sioux Falls, it doesn't seem like its going to be much of a fight.

Rapid City finishes 14-2 and holds on to the #2 seed.

3. Anchorage Wolves
Anchorage has been quite a powerhouse in the West this season. Their only 2 losses were to Rapid City and Caprica and they will look to exact some vengence as they roll comfortably into the playoffs in a few weeks. Only 3 teams stand in their way. Well, 1 is standing. The other 2 are pretty much sitting. The 8-5 Makos stand the best chance of shaking things up in the west by taking down Anchorage. However, Anchorage has come a long way to the top while the Makos only appear to be slipping.

Anchorage finishes 14-2 and holds on to the #3 seed.

4. DVDTalk Otters
The DVDTalk Otters are on an 8 game win streak since week 5 where they lost to Rapid city. Just about every game they've played since then has been a blow out. However, their remaining schedule is probably the toughest of any playoff contender as their final 2 games are against the 12-1 Caprica and Gulf state, who is currently tied for first place in the East. DVD is a very tough club and could very well win out, but for them I'm predicting at least one loss in these last two games.

DVD finishes 13-3 and holds on to the #3 seed.

5. Sioux Falls Storm
What can I say? Sioux Falls has surprised just about everyone this season. The upset @ Rapid City. Their only 3 losses to teams currently seeded in the top 4, all of which were hard fought games. They're currently 10-3 with little chance of being upset by one of their last 3 opponents. Not to mention the fact that with some help from DVD they could even bump on up into that 4th seed. Much respect for the boys at Sioux Falls. *Golf Clap*

Sioux Falls finishes 13-3 and comes in at #5.

6. Uncle Sam's Misguided Children
USMC is currently 8-5 with 5 of their last seven games being losses. They had a great 6 game run at the beggining of the season, but the second they got to the heavy hitters in their schedule, they got softer than a wet twinkie. USMC will probably win out as the only team that stands a chance of stopping them is San Jose. But I'm sure it will be a hard fought game by both teams that is sure to be a nail biter.

USMC finishes 11-5 and holds on to #6.

7. Rocky Mountain Thunder
Rocky Mountain has been fighting hard all season to squeak into the playoffs and it looks like they may do more than just squeak. They too have a difficult schedule remaining. The game against Death Valley is definately going to be tough. Death Valley pulled off the upset at Caprica earlier this season and won't go down without a fight. But I have a feeling Rocky Mountain will come out on top for this one, pretty much clinching that 7th seed. Midwest won't be able to stop them, and they will most likely lose to the Eastern powerhouse that is the Menzingers.

Rocky Mountain finishes 9-7 sneaking in to the 7th seed.

8. Death Valley Shadowblades
Death Valley has a very similar remaining schedule to Rocky Mountain. 1 probable win, 1 probable loss, and the game that has been predicted above. Once again, anything can happen here in the BBB#15. Death Valley proved that earlier this season in a game that we don't need to speak about ever again. But they're going to have to work very hard to prove it again in these last 3 games.

Death Valley finishes 9-7 and slides in to that last but certainly not least 8th seed.

This scenario would set up a Cap Vs. D.V. first round game. That would be sweet.

Just out of morbid curiosity - what would things look like if DVDTalk beat Capricia and Rapid City and Anchorage won out?

We'd have four 14-2 teams at the top of the Western Conference...how screwy would that be?

It would go to records, then points scored. In which case Rapid City and Caprica would tie and go to points scored. Then Anchorage and DVD would tie and go to points scored. Assuming DVD wins out that is.

In that case, Caprica beat Rapid City and Anchorage, but not DVD. Rapid City beat DVD and Anchorage, but not Caprica. Anchorage beat DVD, but not Caprica or Rapid City. DVD beat Caprica, but not Anchorage or Rapid city. So between the 4 teams that gives Rapid City and Caprica 2 wins a peice and Anchorage and DVD 1 a piece. Thats why it would then go to points scored the way I orignially explained it.

I actually don't see a "probable" win on our schedule at all. Rapid City is a beast. And Rocky Mountain & Atlanta both grade out higher than us. 9-7 would be quite the accomplishment indeed.

Overall though, great work. Well done!

We get to pop the corks off those champagne bottles we've had since season 3, and well, they have a ton of dust on them.

Sorry we spoilt that tonight. The worst we can do now is 7th, based on head to head with Rocky Mountin, who played a great game, but missed one FG and it cost them. We took advantage of nothing, and clawed and scrapped our way to the win. This was the game of the week, and again Rocky Mountain I say Great Game.

Yeah sorry to say but I was disappointed. Had you guys lost, not only would we have had a shot to get in with your tough end-of-season schedule, but you guys would have really fallen off there.

Of course I wasn't hoping for you to suffer, but it would have been the easiest way for us to get in. Now we'll have to depend on a miraculous upset of Midwest over Rocky Mountain. It would require a perfect gameplan to knock them off. Then Rocky Mountain would have to lose its last game for us to have a shot as it has the tiebreaker with us due to points scored.

Great season, great game. What a thriller.
