While everything is still close together in WEPL Alpha I think the picture who might make it and who might not becomes clearer. Here's my prediction as to how things will turn out in just about a weeks time:

1. Woodridge Lumberjacks
current record: 11-2
to play: Lake Charles, Paris, Korb
prediction: W - W - W
predicted record: 14-2
Closest game should be Korb, but even with a loss the Lumberjacks should manage to grab the #1 seed once again.

2. London Monarchs
current record: 9-4
to play: Richmond, Chicago, Rohrheim
prediction: W - W - W
predicted record: 12-4
Richmond is a gimme, Rohrheim and particularly Chicago could be close, but I'll give London the upper hand in both contests.

3. Paris Philharmonic
current record: 10-3
to play: Stuttgart, Woodridge, Frankfurt
prediction: W - L - L
predicted record: 11-5
Paris will falter a bit down the stretch, but still clinch the #3 spot thanks to a win over my #4 team.

4. Wembley Warriors
current record: 8-5
to play: Valhalla, Carthage, Blind
prediction: W - W - W
predicted record: 11-5
A relatively easy schedule to close out the season should see them win out, but then Carthage has surprised a few teams already.

5. Toledo Swords
current record: 8-5
to play: FTA, Aberdeen, Rotterdem
prediction: W - W - L
predicted record: 10-6
The next two games are certainly no gimmes, but I see Toledo coming out ahead in both, they won't be able to knock Rotterdam off their perch though.

6. Berlin Blitzkrieg
current record: 7-6
to play: Blackpool, E-City, Paris
prediction: W - W - W
predicted record: 10-6
Hard to judge their Zeta matchup, and E-City should (hopefully) be close too, but I give them wins in all three games, losing out to the #5 team due to their loss a few games ago.

7. Chicago Rocks
current record: 7-6
to play: E-City, London, Porto
prediction: W - L - W
predicted record: 9-7
Again hard to judge their Zeta matchup, but I give them the benefit of the doubt. This is where it gets interesting, as I have them beat E-City but they lost to AWC, who lost to the Mercs. Chicago has by far the most points scored amongst the three, so for now they are in the lead of this three way tie.

8. E-City Mercenaries
current record: 8-5
to play: Chicago, Berlin, Copenhagen
prediction: L - L - W
predicted record: 9-7
Although both upcoming games could turn into a W I have some doubts about that happening, the Zeta matchup should be the clincher though, not only are the Mercenaries slightly ahead in points scored on AWC right now but they will be able to pad those some more against the Zeta cupcake.

9. Aberdeen Wrecking Crew
current record: 8-5
to play: Carthage, Toledo, MA
prediction: W - L - L
predicted record: 10-6
Aberdeen could be this seasons tough luck team by just merely missing out on a tie breaker, however they might be able to beat a Trolls team that will fold at the end of the season, so likely they have got their playoff fate in their own hands.

10. Fightin' Texas Aggies
current record: 6-7
to play: Toledo, Stuttgart, Valencia
prediction: L - L - W
predicted record: 7-9
FTA have not managed to fix a glaring hole all season, and you have to wonder if they will manage to do it in time for season 6. I have them lose to Stuttgart because of this, and amongst the tied teams they have scored the most points so far, and can add to that significantly against Valencia.

11. Lake Charles Who Dats
current record: 6-7
to play: Woodridge, Blackpool, Multiple
prediction: L - W - L
predicted record: 7-9
To be honest I think they might well beat Multiple, but in the end even that won't be enough if they can't topple Woodridge. It would lift them past FTA though and shake up things between 10th and 13th a bit.

12. Stuttgart Nighthawks
current record: 5-8
to play: Paris, FTA, Reykjavik
prediction: L - W - W
predicted record: 7-9
Another frustrating season for Stuttgart no doubt, and even if they win out it very likely won't be enough. They already lost to two of the teams that I have with the same record, and although I see them beating FTA the 1-2 in the tie breaker will see them here.

13. Valhalla Vikings
current record: 5-8
to play: Wembley, Richmond, Oslo
prediction: L - W - W
predicted record: 7-9
In their final season the Vikings will miss out on the playoffs for the first time ever, question is will anyone on their roster still care? 1-2 against the other tied teams, and far less points scored than Stuttgart, although they can make up some of that against Richmond and Oslo.

14. Carthage Army of Darkness
current record: 5-8
to play: Aberdeen, Wembley, Stockholm
prediction: L - L - L
predicted record: 5-11
Several upset wins should give them hope for next season, but I can't see them pulling off any more surprises this season.

15. Blackpool Mountain Lions
current record: 1-12
to play: Berlin, Lake Charles, Rivals
prediction: L - L - L
predicted record: 1-15
Sorry Blackpool, you got closer to being competitive this season and likely would do better next season, should be able to challenge in AAA right away.

16. Richmond Renegades:
current record: 0-13
to play: London, Valhalla, PPP
prediction: L - L - L
predicted record: 0-16
Good luck in AAA!

I can guarantee you that the Trolls won't quit in any aspect of the current season. We want to go out with a bang and will play every game as if there will be no tomorrow.

Great write up ZZ, although I suspect FTA will fix their problems soon
