Huntsville at Maryland should be a great game. With the Rattlesnakes sitting at game 16 on their schedule, Huntsville really needs a win here and then another against Cleveland. You can bet the Rockets are going to bring their best game plan with their last shot at a home field playoff game on the line. Meanwhile, Maryland just needs a win tomorrow to pretty much lock in a top 3 spot, having only lost to the current top 2 teams . The outcome of the match up between the top DE and the top O-line in the conference should have a large impact on who wins this one. I don't expect a lot of sacks no matter who wins that battle though, both teams usually like to keep it on the ground where they get 6+ yards per carry. This could come down to field goals and Huntsville's kicker is almost automatic inside 50 yards. Maryland's kicker isn't too shabby either.
Rochester at Orlando is a much better game than I though it would be just 3 (real) weeks ago. Back then I would have thought this would be pretty one sided, but Rochester has won 8 straight and made it to the #2 spot, probably to the surprise of almost everyone. A win here would definitely prove they are one of the very best teams in the conference and one of the top threats in the post season in addition to possibly netting them a LOT more cash if they make it to the 2nd round to get their 2nd home game. On the other hand Orlando needs this win to increase their chances of hanging on to their top 4 seed and receiving a home playoff game in the first round. Rochester will have to stop Orlando's Gerald Watson from having one of his usual 100+ QB rating games if they want to win, I don't like Rochester's chances against the top-rated pass defense in the conference if they get caught in a shoot-out.
Those 2 games will put a few of the last key pieces in place and should give us a good idea how the final rankings will shake out. Every team that plans on making the playoffs in the East this season should be very interested in how they play out.
