Virginia Hustlers vs. New Jersey Revolution 3-17 (incorrect final score 14-10)
Battle of two teams mostly filled with cpu players. It's rough signing FAs unless you have some kind of commen theme. The Revolution start the season with a win.

Chicago Storm vs. Las Vegas Flyin' Elvis 17-31 (incorrect final score 20-19)
Chicago Storm has a couple of realy nice skill players but the rest of the roster leaves alot to be desired. Elvis is fairly solid across the board. Look for them to surge ahead in the second half.

Georgia Storm vs. Chicago Commandos 27-3 (correct final score 20-0)
With the Commandos fielding a team of mostly cpus against all human starters, It's going to be Georgia Storm by a landslide.

Liberty City Convicts vs. St. Louis Assassins 10-14 (correct final score 0-14)
With both teams having a few human players spread across teams with mostly cpu players it's hard to call. I am giving the Assassins the nod because it seems that they have put a bit more work into their team.

Miami Brawlers vs. North Carolina Nudists 31-17 (correct final score 30-7)
The Nudists are going to be a good team this year. Too bad they drew Miami for their first game. You know the rest of us will be reviewing their game tape looking for weaknesses to exploit.

Nashville Crushers vs. College Station Stallions 17-10 (correct final score 27-0)
Props to Nashville for signing some FAs in this difficult time. Even if they are all mostly 1s and 2s. College Station is a team filled with cpu players. Humans get the edge almost every time.

Bud Dry Beer Barons vs. Milwaukee Beers 14-27 (incorrect final score 31-13)
Bud Dry went the high level CPU route. They look good on paper but I don't think that the cpus are going to play at a high level. I give the edge to Milwaukee.

Cleveland Gladiators vs. Chocolate City Cha Chings 34-14 (correct final score 26-15)
I am biased on this one since I am the owner of the Gladiators. The Cha Chings look like a very good team. Look for them to finish near the top of the standings. Too bad they drew us for the first game.

I am not much of a writer. And I am in the Eastern Conference. I am trying to spark someone with more talent into doing it better and doing it again next time.

This was a great piece of work. Nice job!! We should keep this going every week. Would keep all the owners on their toes and help the newer owners as well. Great work on this.

Five out of Eight isn't too bad I guess.

Never under-estimate the Beer Barons. If all these human players want the big bucks, then they won't make it to my team. We want focused players who are team-oriented. Once we get some wins rolling, maybe someone will want to sign just to be a part of the team.

Nice post, Lost. Free agent signing is just brutal out there.

Would be fun if Bort et al. could program a draft for teams at the beginning of the season for newly created players. Pay scale could then be pre-programmed based on draft position, player level, etc.

(I know, I know. Wrong string for this...I'm just rambling)

You know something? You might be on to something pretty good. Think about that for a second. Once this league establishes itself I can see some sort of draft at the end of the season. The interest would be through the roof. I hope that you take this idea and mention to the powers that be. Good job on this.

Thanks for the encouragement, MRod. I'll drop a line to Bort and the admins and see if they've thought about something like a draft. Probably would be horrible to write the code for it, but would make things really interesting and probably less frustrating for owners.

I tell you, I don't know if it was you, but someone had mentioned a draft and I thought that was one of the best ideas I ever heard on this thing. It would bring a whole new level of interest.

Edit: I guess it was you. Thought this was in a different thread.
