As like many of us, I'm having my worst season with my powerback (I'm also in an easier league, and being outperformed by a poorly built combo back who is a level 23 to my 27).

Is there any word about un-Nerfing powerbacks next year (maybe not to the level they were at before, but at least a tweak up).

I ask because I'm thinking about changing my build at this point.

^^^ Yeah, on the face of it not all. In context though, I'm on a team that's built for running, and the combo back who is 4 levels lower than me is averaging 6.4 ypc with 21TDs to my 4. We're playing the same teams and getting a similar number of carries. He finally improved his build, but it has been pretty atrocious for most of the season. I've gotten up speed to counter against the problems I've been having, and that's really been the cause for my increased performance (I should still be able to run all over a poorly built dude four levels lower though).

my build, if anyone is interested:

LV. 27

Strength: 83.4
Speed: 58.21
Agility: 49.95
Stamina: 31.06 (we split carries, so not an issue)
Carrying: 30.75
Vision: 27.69
Confidence: 26.18

Powerback SAs: 3,4,4,5,1

Edit: I'm also in what was a LV. 21 capped league, so there's not really anybody in my league above LV. 27 (save for a shady team that got dropped down and stocked up).

More carrying imo. Underrated for breaking tackles.

Powerbacks are absolutely fine. Mine has improved on last years performance, which was pretty solid.

you guys are 12-0 and crushing everybody. how was the team last year? I'm just curious if there's been improvements, upgrade to the oline, etc. Stats like that come from teams like that more so than one individual build, IMO. Do you mind sharing it?

Powerbacks if anything need to be nerfed more.

then look at my halfback in comparison. Same team, split playing time. Trust me, mine has a pretty good build.

More speed is the solution. I moved most of my eqp in STR to SPD and its helped a lot.

yeah, I've been thinking the same thing, but I've already got a lot of points in SAs and I'm not too excited about ending up with a combo back in a couple seasons.

We were 16-0 in the regular season, and we were upset in the playoffs by the Brazillian Waxers...a very well coached team.

We have only lost one other game, that was a scrimmage vs a team with level 31-33 players across the board, vs my level 25 players (though we actually outgained them by by quite a bit...we had massive turnovers).

And yes, the team is very solid across the board. Our O-line is dominant. No HB is good enough to succeed on a team that is poorly built, especially at the O-line.

A good fullback is also worth at least 2.5 ypc, in my opinion.

I'm not so sure...my backup back is elusive and while he does not quite have the same numbers, he is doing fine. He has actually been the better back in a few games.

My powerback had one massive game (400+ yards) that skews things a bit...not against a gutted team, but in fact against the second best rushing defense in the conference (mine is the best )
They went for all power tackling to try and force fumbles, and my powerback cut right through like a knife through butter..lol.
They did force a ton of fumbles though...6 I think.

Good backs on a good team will have success, regardless of style, and backs with a lousy team will suffer, regardless of style.

Hence we have people calling out for nerfing and un-nerfing in the same thread.

Sounds to me like things are in proper balance, eh?

I would say to get Carrying up a little bit and Speed to maybe 60 but I would say you need to get Vision up there. I know it goes against popular belief for Power Backs but a power back on one of my teams got his vision up and with the HB run-pathing changes he has been having the best season and a half of his career

Just had to quote this so people didn't miss it. I agree completely, build is only half the battle, the rest is having a good OL, good FB/TE, and great OC.
