Eastern Conference Predictions
Week 12 is about to commence. Things are really coming together now, as the clear front runners are surfacing. We had a big change after week 10 with Ottawa beating the Blaze pretty handily. They are now at the second spot in the conference and may not look back. Playoffs are getting closer now and teams on the bubble will have to step up!
NJ Hitmen (5-6) at Ten Yard Fight! (11-0)
The Fight are as yet still undefeated. They are coming off back to back games against rebuilding teams. Now the Hitmen bring their high powered rifles into the Nintendo Entertain Stadium. Normally I would say hired thugs with guns would always prevail over 8-bit games from the 80s but at this point the Fight are looking pretty tough.
*Prediction Excluded
Ottawa Outbreak (8-1) at Saint Paul Vulcans (6-5)
Ottawa is riding high and is now, in this author's view, the undisputed #2 team in the conference. They bring the Outbreak into Saint Paul who fields a formidable team but has key losses that have really hurt them. Statistically speaking, the Outbreak have a better passing game but the two teams look about the same on the running side. A deeper look reveals a possible weakness as the Outbreak look to be fumbling a good deal more. If the Vulcans can capitalize on this, they have a chance. I don't think that will be enough to win though.
Outbreak 35 - Vulcans 20
New Jersey Blaze (9-2) at Tecmo All Stars (1-10)
Tecmo has some new ownership it seems. The aptly named "Three and Out" squad will face yet another beat down, this time against the Blaze. I would look at stats, compare starting lineups and ponder results of simulated football games but hey, this is still Tecmo. Blaze pad their stats this week.
Blaze 120 - Tecmo 6
New Orleans Night Trippers (3-8) at Tampa Bay Krakens (9-2)
Tampa Bay has been solid all year. They are sitting pretty in the fourth overall spot, tied in record with the Blaze. The Night Trippers have a cool name and avatar. No seriously, they are getting better but this is a very hard conference to be rebuilding in. I don't think they can stop Stump Galloway on his quest for the rushing touchdown title. Look for TB to run all over this mofo.
Trippers 10 - Krakens 45
Philadelphia Pigeons (8-3) at Sheffield Sabres (1-10)
Philly comes to Sheffield after a painful loss to the Blaze. They will be looking to take their frustrations out against the rebuilding Sabres. Remember one thing when it comes to the Pigeons, Alex Striker all day to Johny Blazy. I am not sure anyone can stop this killer combo and they should be more than enough to overwhelm the struggling Sheffield Sabres.
Pigeons 52 - Sabres 3
Buffalo Chips (7-4) at Atlanta SEC All Stars (7-4)
This is my match-up of the week! Both teams are trying to stay in the playoff hunt and a win here would help solidify that. Both teams are pretty solid, roster wise, but have a couple weaknesses. I think that this one will come down to the last couple drives of the 4th quarter. The Chips have a team chemistry advantage and I think I will go with that for my outcome.
Chips 31 - SEC 28
Bonita Beef Supreme (6-5) at FC Hezbollah (3-6)
The BBS are fighting tough for a playoff spot. I dont think Hezbollah belong in that running and their record proves it at this point. This is a must win for the Supreme, if they miss this one it will be very hard to make the cut. I dont think they will have a problem getting it done this week.
Supreme 49 - Hezbollah 13
Texas Wrecking Crew (2-9) at Seward City Cats (0-11)
Both teams are near the bottom of the conference at this point. The TWC have a much better roster and whatever their play calling and AI problems are, they will stomp all over the City Cats. At this point I have used up all of my creative descriptions for what one would do to a cat if one was so inclined. That is how bad they are.
TWC 56 - City Cats 10
Best of luck to everyone in this week's games.
Thanks,
Chris
