I love this play *pats own back as D-Co who designed/implemented it* but I have one major issue. The Middle/Max Backer goes to cover the WR in a double-team and ignores the FB to the flat. Now, I imagine that the FB is lower man on the totem pole re: checkdowns, but this "gaff" could have changed a dramatic third-down sack into a loss for my team.

On this play, I do not have the underneath set to man-to-man. Is that what I am missing? Or is this played flawed with no correctable resolution?

It looks like he's in a zone, not doing man-to-man on TE

As you move up in levels and the QB's get better and WR's get faster this play will fail.

How the Hell did this get here? I had it in the TACTICS thread. Oh, well.

CB's get faster, too. I have no idea if the CB BLITZ SA is worth anything, but I gotta think it wouldn't hurt. Sure, its a long way, but a player with 80+ SPEED gets there every time.

I have a CB with 80+ speed 60 + Ail 7 First Step and 6 Blitz SA. This CB blitz will fail at higher levels, there are some others that work, but when the WR's get 80+ speed and run the routes fast, THIS blitz won't work.

we just pulled that very same play with our farm team against higher lvl opposition:

CB is lvl 11 vs lvl 24 QB, lvls 33 and 27 WR too so i doubt this play fails

This works pretty well in 3 WR sets if youve got good depth at CB

CB Acton lvl 11 couldn't make the play, the lvl 10 SS who was supposed to occupy the RG ends up pulling off a miracle move against far superior opposition

** EDIT - matchup of the 2 teams, we may have lost but i've never had so much fun in GLB as i am now, scoring 30 against this team plus making great plays with the D

That's not true.

Of course, all it takes is one well-planned team to tear a blitzing CB apart, but then it comes down to whether or not you get to the QB before their WR passes your help.

what about two blitzing corner backs. whatcha gonna do about that? huh? huh?

I've done the classic Pincer Blitz [4:1:6] with a CB coming off each side [CB3 and CB4]. Can't find the film for it right now.

It can get a little crazy.
