Eastern Conference Predictions
Week 10 rolls around and things are shaping up. We now see what teams were just lucky with early scheduling and which teams are going to be fighting it out in the playoffs. The next 6 weeks will determine the seeding and that is very important financially for teams. Let's get to it.
Ten Yard Fight! (9-0) at Seward City Cats (0-9)
Not much to say here. The poor City Cats have been beaten and left out in the rain. I think it is safe to say that 10-yard will be padding their stats in this game. Lets see if we can set a record of points scored this season! Here kitty kitty kitty...
*Prediction Excluded
Ottawa Outbreak (8-1) at New Jersey Blaze (8-1)
Game of the week, without a doubt. Hell, this could be game of the year. Both teams are championship contenders with solid rosters, skilled coordinators and a mean disposition to boot. Statistically, the Blaze have a better passing game and the Outbreak have a better running game. Defensively we are talking about two teams who shut everyone down. Third and Fourth in passing defense, second and third in rushing defense. This game will be one to watch! I have a hard time picking on this one, so I will go with my power rankings. Blaze in OT.
Outbreak 20 - Blaze 21
Philadelphia Pigeons (7-2) at Tecmo All Stars (1-8)
The Pigeons are flying high, near the very top of the conference. The All Stars are slow building players at the bottom of the league. It is Philly's time to beat up on the Season 3 trophy winning team. Not much of a prediction, more like a certainty. The Pigeons win, big.
Pigeons 130 - Tecmo 3
Texas Wrecking Crew (2-7) at Tampa Bay Krakens (7-2)
Stump Galloway. It is pretty much all you need to say here. The Krakens HB is second in yardage and first in touchdowns in our conference. The Wrecking Crew wont be able to stop him. I constantly wonder why the Crew aren't better. I think they could do more with that roster. Look for some good ole-fashioned running the ball down their throats kind of ball here. Krakens maul the Crew.
Crew 10 - Krakens 76
Bonita Beef Supreme (4-5) at Atlanta SEC All Stars (6-3)
The Supreme Beef (mmm, hungry) take their Bonita into Atlanta this week. The SEC All Stars have been very strong this year and to most this will be an easy call. I am not so sure. I think this could have the makings of an upset. Remember that the BBS beat the Vulcans. I will go ahead and call this upset. No offense to SEC, they will be in the playoffs this year either way.
Supreme 24 - SEC 21
Buffalo Chips (6-3) at Saint Paul Vulcans (5-4)
This game should be a great one. The Vulcans host the Chips and both teams are looking for a win to help solidify their playoff aspirations. I think this is the week of the underdogs. Vulcans run the ball well and stop the run. The Chips are more of an air show and I believe that running wins football games. Ofcourse, this is GLB, so who freakin' knows these days. LOL
Chips 27 - Vulcans 31
NJ Hitmen (3-6) at FC Hezbollah (3-6)
This is a battle of 3-6 teams looking to step up their game. The winner of this still has a remote chance at the wild cards? I have to admit that I am not looking at any stats, parsing through my notes or using any kind of logic in this prediction. I don't like Islamic fundamentalist football teams. I know, that sounds crazy but hey... what can I say. Hitmen win, please win. America needs you.
Hitmen 24 - Hezbollah 13
New Orleans Night Trippers (2-7) at Sheffield Sabres (1-8)
Last but not least its the Night Trippers. Sometimes these guys really come to play. The Sabres have had a very tough go at it this season and are looking to rebuild. I dont see this as being as close as their record would lead one to believe. NO over Sheffield.
Trippers 24 - Sabres 10
Best of luck to everyone in this week's games.
Thanks,
Chris
