Break Thru: does it actually do anything? I cannot recall a single replay where I see a DT/NT burst through a double team of equal level offensive linemen. I've seen DT builds with 5 in break thru and it makes no difference in the replays.

Well it may do something, but you're just not going anywhere without high agility and speed anyways.

Ive never seen any of the DT specials work, there garbage.

Line general seems to work...

2 on 1 is unfair already. Put it this way. How often if you were not doubled teamed do you break through/away from an OL? If that is close to zero well Break Through is a worthless skill then because you need to be able to break through blocks in the first place.

I disagree. Shed block. But yeah, most of them seem to do NOTHING.

I see this same thing posted quite often, and I disagree. As it happens, today's game gave a pretty good example of breakthrough for my starting NT:

That's a level 24 NT, vs a level 24 Center and Level 22 RG, both excellent builds on one of the top rushing teams in the league, and one of the top teams overall in our league.

I am not giving out his build, but yes, he definitely uses breakthrough.

I would give more examples, but folks have almost stopped trying to rush against me..for some reason

Break Through works. My DT makes tackles while being double teamed and I think it's because of Break Through. If it didn't work the runner would've just run right past me.

I get that quite a bit, and I don't have a single point in Breakthrough.

And you would likely get it a bit more with an appropriate amount of breakthrough.

Makes sense, eh?

If thats what break-thru is...my DE's use it quite often, as does my DT who has 0 in break-thru.

Break through is just a move, it does not need an SA to be executed...the SA merely aids in the execution. Bort has stated this himself.

I would envision only an NT would need it as a DT is ALMOST always blocked solo.
