I'll try to make this make sense.

As an O Coordinator, I spent a great part of this season trying to make use of the hb pass. Up until now I've had it turned off as it seemed pretty useless.

I think most agree that the dump off to the hb is pretty useless, getting a moderate gain on occasion, but generally no gain or a loss.

However, when you can get the HB down field, he is frequently open. Bort posted the plays. There are 3 HB routes in the long passes, 3 of which are worthwhile. "slot in and go", "Double Corner", "HB Fly."

I tried everything to incorporate passes to the hb and couldn't get the QB to throw to him. I adjusted percentages of basic and custom AI. Finally realized that it was the fact that the QB was set to never dump off to HB (which shouldn't make a difference in a real route that isn't a dump off), but it seems to. Changed that setting and started getting a couple.

Went in to custom AI and set several specific plays calling for a Long pass to a HB. Rarely did the HB go into that route, or the QB choose to throw to him when he did and was wide open, but frequently, I got the dreaded dump off for a loss.

I know this is long sorry. Finally, before last game, I took out all passes to the HB, QB turned the dump off to never, turned basic AI to 0% to HB, what did I get?

to be shortly followed by A WR covered by a LB who get's wide open before the ball is thrown and instead the QB does this.

Our QB's vission is more than adequate.

Any ideas? Anyone else have these problems?

1st) Please clarify "more than adequate" vision for your QBs. Over 60? Over 65?
2nd) How much catching/vision/agility do the intended receivers have?

I've noticed this myself, I'm pretty sure it's just coded poorly. Once you select "don't dump off to HB" your QB just won't do it.

Exactly. Select don't dump off and he still will and the fact that you seem to have to have yes to dump off in order to get him to throw down field to his HB. I was mostly just really surprised that in the custom AI, if I selected a long pass to the HB at 100% chance in a specific situation such as 2nd and 0 through 3 yards, It wouldn't happen. Even if I had follow my AI exactly selected. Very frustrating.

I looked at the second play that I posted more closely and realized that the QB was hurried and his passing lane (if the game takes that in to account) was shut off to his open wide receiver. It wasn't a bad play to dump off to the hb, but Just frustrated by the fact that We had 0% to hb selected and QB had never dump off. Wonder sometimes how much control on offense we actually have.

Vision about 60, and out of curiosity, why do you ask about vision relating to the receivers, in this situation?

Your QB had 2 defenders bearing down on him and miraculously managed to get a pass away to an open receiver and get the first down....and you're complaining. Amazing.

Do you really think your QB could have completed a 40 yard pass while stumbling backwards to avoid 2 sprinting pass rushers?

re-read my second post, second paragraph, I owned up to not even noticing the sack he was about to take. I said, "It wasn't a bad play to dump off to the hb." What I'm frustrated about is not the specific play, but rather the lack of control I seem to have.

Umm its a sim and the tactics are not that in depth thats why you have so much lack of control.
