1(1) - Bangkok Seamen(6-2) - Bangkok justify's this spot by stomping the team that just knocked off the prior number one. With Phuket and Bandar both left, they better be hitting there stride if they want to remain here.
Next week vs Niagara Jeanhorns - Niagara has been impressive, but Bangkok is one of the best in GLB
2(2) - Bandar Lampung Pigskin Pirates(7-1) - Bandar's strength of schedule just hasn't been there, and they now enter possibly the hardest ending schedule of the top 8. It starts vs there long time rivals this week.
Next week vs East St. Louis Tire Fires*GAME OF THE WEEK* - One of SE Asia's best rivalries continues in a battle for the #1 seed
3(3) - Queensland Flash(6-2) - The upstart Flash continue there winning ways as they enter a tough stretch of games hoping to capture a home playoff game.
Next week vs Pennsylvania Silver Knights - Battle of the newcomers - PSK has the edge in levels, Flash the edge in tactics. I'm picking the Flash
4(4) - Phuket All(6-2) - Even with the win, Phuket barely holds on. The Gothic put up way to many points and yards in this game. Luckily for Phuket, they have one of the easier ending schedules in the top 8.
Next week at Macau Gamblers - Phuket should win this one
5(6) - East St. Louis Tire Fires(7-1) - I took some heat for ESL's drop, but you don't get undressed 35-7 and remain in the top 5 that week with the level of competition in Alpha this season. If they win this week, they return to the top of the mountain and should have the #1 seed locked up. The win is a big IF though.
Next week at Bandar Lampung Pigskin Pirates*GAME OF THE WEEK* - One of the top rivalries continues, and this year it is a battle for the #1 seed
6(7) - Pennsylvania Silver Knights(5-3) - They beat the Mauraders and have levels on the Jeanhorns. I'm still on the edge about these guys as there roster suggests a top 3 or 4 team, but they've been undressed by both ESL and Bangkok.
Next week at Queensland Flash - Flash in a close one expose the PSK gameplanning
7(5) - Singapore Marauders(5-3) - A week after a huge victory over a complacent ESL team, they take a beating from perrenial contender Bangkok. Only a win over Niagara keeps them in the top 7. A matchup with Pattaya has just become much more important with NACJAC week 16
Next week at Holbrook Roadrunners - Singapore has a tuneup game before a must win matchup with Bandar
8(8) - Niagara Jeanhorns(5-3) - The surprise team of the year continues on strong with wins over the Gothic and Gamblers. They enter a tough stretch of games, and need to go 5-3 to end the season to secure a playoff spot in my mind.
Next week at Bangkok Seamen - A strong showing here would be something to build on before a more winnable matchup with Phuket
9(9) - Pattaya Partisans(5-3) - Big win in a game they needed to dominate
10(10) - Macau Gamblers(3-5) - A playoff spot is about out of reach, but a strong finish would be something to build on for next season
11(11) - Xi'an Dragons(3-5) - At best a 9-7 finish, but even that will be a stretch and require some luck
12(12) - Chaiyaphum Gothic(2-6) - Tough game vs Phuket that they played well in. Need more consistency
13(13) - Holbrook Roadrunners(2-6) - Facing a brutal stretch of games leaves them at 11+ losses
14(14) - Tokyo Whalers(2-6) - There two wins are most likely what they finish with
15(16) - Taiwan Royals(0-8) - They lack levels, but things are going up for the Royals. While a victory this week is tough, it's there best chance at one this season. Unsaid Equinox is slowly turning this team around and I think they deserved to be bumped up, if even for one week.
16(15) - Spokane Vandalizers(0-8) - Only winnable game this year, it's a huge match up for them.
Next week vs Niagara Jeanhorns - Niagara has been impressive, but Bangkok is one of the best in GLB
