Warrior General Games

Any of you guys that have been around for a while have any opinion on this one? Let me rephrase... most people in the Pro League have been around since at least season 1 so... Is there any of you that would like to comment on this game?

We (Doomsday) have scouted, watched game film from three different seasons, checked with other owners and have found no weakness in PP and his Maulers. You have a good organinzation there PP it will be difficult to be competitive. Regardless, it should be a good game we are not going to pull any punches.

Are there any Power Rankings or Prediction threads up this high? I personaly am not talented enough to put something like that out on a constant basis but they are always good to read and draw out some pretty good rivalries.

BTW USA PRO it is good to be here, and our goal is to try and prove we belong by staying a season or two... unless Bort moves us down because we are low level or we aren't able to compete.

Thanks, tmoon. The ironic thing is that I feel the exact same way about Doomsday. I doubt you remember, but I helped try to turn around a dismally floundering little AA team called the Georgia Rhinos a couple seasons back. We actually made the POs and then the owner quit...You guys OWNED that league and us (http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=74484 That was the last game before the sale). You've always had max respect from me.

I remember that well. Was actually my last season running the D full time for Doomsday (Akuda and Ryiot took over last season when I had personel issues to deal with). You gave us fits in the reg season and the playoffs. I also had a KR/PR on the WV Mountaineers that has since retired and you guys were very difficult to beat... too bad they had to dismantle. Legacy joined us out of USA AA 2, wish we could have picked you up too...

You put together a hell of a ball cub there PP, hell of a club.

Thanks. We had a ton of holes, but most of the players on that team were great guys and so desperately wanted to win. The only reason we made any kind of a game with you guys at all was because I never worked harder trying to figure out how to stay on the field with a team as I did with you guys. YOU were the team we wanted to be. For the 2 seasons I GMed for them, almost all of the players did everything I asked of them without hesitation. I'm glad I got them into the POs before it was gutted, at least...OK, enough of the nice stuff now (though I meant every word). I've got to start all over and try to figure out how to stay on the field with you again, and it doesn't look like that's gotten any easier.

We had rankings for a while last year. If someone wanted to compile a bunch of them I'd be willing to send some in on a weekly basis. It is getting extremely hard to rank teams in the USA Pro though since it is becoming ultra-balanced and competitive.

Those Rhinos... man I remember you had a short roster but some damn good builds. Anyway I hope you don't figure anything out until next season if we can stay up that long... lol... If I know you PP, and its been a while since I have gameplanned you, you will try and do what Philly did to us week one. I know you are not one dimensional as much as you would like us to beleive... man your schemes are good.

One of our agent/GM's Bears Rules put out one of the finest rankings/Pro bowl type rankings I have ever seen in season 2 USA A 4... they were good but too many people were mad about them and he stopped... maybe with some encouragement he could try again, I don't know haven't asked him about it but its worth a shot, especially if he could get some help.

Bears and bhalls website was the best, with their added commentary. But some how his team was always ranked better than DDays, lol.

My prediction is the Maulers will run the ball for 300 yards.

Hope you're right Doc, and I just can't tell you how absolutely thrilled I am to see that you're pulling for us and excited about our style of play. Glad to have you on board!

I didn't know that you GM'd the Rhinos? That season we started scouting the Rhinos about 3 games before the playoffs began because of the likely matchup. We really did not want to play the Rhinos because it felt like a trap game and we knew you guys had a late boost coming from almost the entire team.

That was a really unfortunate gutting because you guys were way more competitive than your record showed. If you had boosted early instead of late you potentially were a 3-5 seed instead of 7 seed that season. To make that strategy pay off it would have been nice to keep that team around the following season and see what type of damage they could have done.

Yeah, well, the owner got extremely busy in r/l that season and things started to slip through the cracks. The biggest problem was that a bunch of players' contracts ran out without a renew option sent to them. All of them would have stayed, even the backups, but they got starting offers, had no offer from us for days and they eventually left. By the time we played you guys, we were down to 5 OL and 5 DLmen, I believe. If memory serves correct, I had to put the 1 backup C as my sole backup for the entire OL. Without the owner having the time to recruit anymore at all, we were a ship that was sinking fast.

IF life hadn't gotten busy for him, I believe we could have done some damage the next season. That was the 3 season plan I'd laid out after I agreed to help them (season 1: try to correct player builds and gain some levels, Season 2: round the builds out to where they needed to be and narrow the lvl gap further, Season 3: hopefully do some winning, but season 3 never came).

All that said, I'll never forget how dominating you guys were. I'm sure the "hope we can stay a season or 2 in Pros" is just being gracious, but my money is on you guys being here for the long haul.

Don't read if you don't want to know what happened. Nice game plan PP, we are about as evenly matched as I thought we were. You got us on a couple of mismatches I hoped you wouldn't spot but knew you would. I may send you a PM and ask a couple of questions that will not have any relevance the next time we play. Hope we can get a re match.

It was more a technicality that put us ahead of you guys all season than anything...obviously our little Grizzlies figured out quick in the playoffs who really was better...yikes! I wish we could have played that next season..we were a far better club...too bad I didnt have the time or patience to continue that squad with Bears...looks like his newly formed team is doing pretty well tho in West Europe...might not be long before the Grizzlies make a comeback...

It was a war, man. As I said, you guys have my utmost respect, and I still owe you 1. I'm still down 1-2 against you guys. The game played out about as I figured as well. Frankly, everything I saw scouting you guys told me that we're about as even on talent as possible and the game didn't change my opinion. A couple breaks either way decided the winner. It was a coin flip game. We play 100 times and I'd bet the results would be damn close to 50/50.

As far as the PM goes, fire away...And I suspect we will get that rematch.
