For the speedster special abilities, and maybe even possession, which ones help you with getting separation from defenders??

I feel like head fake and juke are both just for carrying so i dont really know. Are they that important?

What do you guys suggest a WR should do for separation?

First step and route run, IMO.

Head fake works on while running a route people have stated. I have seen a defender get faked out on a route, but am not sure if that is the QB pump faking or WR head faking.

don't put points into route run imo. you'll be better served putting points directly into speed and agility.

I agree with Kung to a point...I think ok to do a point or 2 to run route but your main focus needs to be speed/agil/catching with vision in there also or the ball will bonk you on the head. THEN after getting near to soft cap on the main 3 put points into SA's....after several months, the general conclusion seems to be its MUCH MUCH better increasing base skills/attributes then investing in SA's that MODIFY base skills/attributes by a %. Id rather have 50 modified by 3% (range 50 - 51.50)....then 30 modified by 15% (range 30-34.5). But when you get some skills at 75 which can be modified by 10%.....this can result in a significant increase if its triggered.

You do realize that not all SAs are "multipliers", right?

I think he does. Some are simply just solid boost or percentages.

So i have a question on Route Running SA as well.

I have a level 17 WR with 85 speed and 40 agility and 6 in first step. I was looking at the route running SA and wondered if it only helps slow receivers or will it add on top of a fast agile WR.

It probably gives you a bonus on the route no matter your speed or agility. That being said, since you are only 8 points away from the agility softcap, I'd recommend you put them there first.

What problems is your receiver having? With 85 speed/40 agility I don't think separation should be one of your problems thus making route run somewhat redundant.

I dunno, CB's seem to still stick with me while running routes but if I catch the ball and there is some room then I break away for a TD but just the stuff over the middle seems to be pretty even with CB's.

Conjecture time:

If a CB and WR are thrown a 50/50 ball, what stats are going to provide the best chance for the WR to bring this in rather than having it get deflected? Carrying, catching, jumping, strength? I doubt vision, agility, or speed come into play. Thoughts?

A combination of jumping, strength, and catching.

I would say it's the agility, I've read several posts that suggest that if your speed and agility are too far out of balance, you are really fast but stumble trying to make "moves" to get open. Most say to keep agility within 10-15 points of speed for "best results". To be quite honest, it makes sense, that could be why the CB's are all over you in route runs, but can't keep up on deep balls.

My WR has speed 30 points higher than agility and the even level CB he was playing against couldn't stay with him at all during the route or after the catch.

I find that my WR, who has wildly different speed and agility totals, can break away on routes over the middle too. Now, he does seem to try some double and triple moves, none of which work very well for whatever reason. He executes them quickly, but it often seems he would be more open if he just used a single move.
