Eastern Conference Predictions
I will take a stab at this. We are definitely missing some contributions from GMs who have moved up. Hopefully I can keep this going and add some content for everyone. This is harder to do when you wait as the games are not listed easily under the conference screen anymore. I guess they are only listed with more than 24 hours to go or something. Anyway, here goes...
New Jersey Blaze (4-0) at Ten Yard Fight! (4-0)
This game has game of the week written all over it. Both teams are 4-0 and have played some tough teams already. This game could be a late-round playoff preview. The Blaze have won the last two meetings and will look to extend their record. The Fight, well, that is the team I own so I won't make a full prediction except to say this has all the makings of a great game!
Ottawa Outbreak (3-1) at Buffalo Chips(4-0)
Both of these teams are very solid. The Buffalo Chips are at home and have a 4-0 record but have yet to be tested this season. The Outbreak have no real weakness in their starting roster and a level advantage at key offensive skill positions. I have to go with visiting Ottawa in this one. To many weapons on offense.
Outbreak 35 - Chips 24
Philadelphia Pigeons (3-1) at Texas Wrecking Crew (0-4)
The Pigeons fly into Landry Stadium after a key win against Bonita Beef Supreme. On paper, Philadelphia has one of the strongest rosters in the conference. They have no weaknesses and will be looking to take it to the Wrecking Crew. I don't expect them to pull any punches and come away with a huge victory against the developing Texas team.
Pigeons 55 - Wrecking Crew 7
Tampa Bay Krakens (3-1) at Atlanta SEC All Stars (3-1)
The SEC All-Stars host a red hot Krakens team, coming off of a close win against the Vulcans and a decisive victory against the Hitmen. Both teams are set at 3-1 in the conference and look to move up in the rankings. SEC was also able to beat the Vulcans but has lost to the Blaze. The Krakens have a slight advantage at QB and the All Stars are a bit lacking at CB. Look for the Krakens to try and pass the ball a lot in this game.
Krakens 24 - All Stars 17
Saint Paul Vulcans (2-2) at Seward City Cats (0-4)
The Vulcans won't need any mind melds or overly logical computations to win in Seward City. The Cats are licking their wounds after some huge losses to the top teams and even ol' Tecmo got a decisive win. This Seward City team is in the beginning of rebuilding, and as most of us have experienced, it is not a pretty thing. Time to build your stats Vulcans.
Vulcans 97 - Cats 10
Tecmo All Stars (1-3) at Bonita Beef Supreme (1-3)
Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Well, they kinda just dispersed... but either way the Tecmo All Stars are going to need more than 8-bit graphics to take a bite of the Beef Supreme. Don't let the records fool you. Bonita has solid players at almost every position and has played with the best in this conference. Tecmo are just slow-building some new players. This one wont be close people.
All Stars 6 - Beef Supreme 76
Sheffield Sabres (1-3) at FC Hezbollah (1-3)
These teams are equal in a lot of ways. They are both rebuilding and about an average of 10 levels below the top teams at starting positions. This is a hard one to call. The Sabres have lost to the best in the league and so has Hezbollah. The Sabres have a much better QB but their line and WRs leave much to be desired, level wise. I think this will be a close one with Hezbollah pulling out the victory. FC was able to actually score on the Pigeons, which is not an easy thing.
Sabres 17 - Hezbollah 27
New Orleans Night Trippers (1-3) at NJ Hitmen (1-3)
New Orleans comes to New Jersey after squeeking out a victory against the Texas Wrecking Crew and then losing big to the Buffalo Chips. The Hitmen are hosting after a three game slide against some of the top teams in the conference. The Night Trippers have a very high level QB and HB (both 34th level?!?) but have NO offensive line. If the games against the Bufallo Chips are any sign, this should go to New Orleans. They were able to score 30 points against them while the Hitmen were held scoreless. Still hard to call but I think NO comes out on top.
Night Trippers 35 - Hitmen 24
Best of luck to everyone in this week's games.
Thanks,
Chris
