Forum > Position Talk > LB Club > Most important stat for an ILB?
Link

Hey, I'm building an ILB (playing MLB now).

At the moment I've gotten strength agility and vision up to the soft cap.

Probably going to raise speed next, and then tackling and confidence.

My equipment is in stamina now. But when I change it over, what should I put it in? Is strength more important for getting by blockers? Or is vision more important for reading the plays? Or agility?

Also, I have no idea what to put my custom gear in.

Anyone else building/built an ILB have any pointers? I've looked over the forum and found very few topics discussing them.

SPD. It's always speed. If you can't get to the ball, you can't make a play.

Heck, in my defensive scheme the MLB blitzes a lot and plays coverage on the TE when the OLB'ers blitz...so you have to be good at pretty much everything. Plus stuffing the run up the middle.

It all starts with getting to the play, to make a play.

vision.... You need enough speed to get sideline to sideline and that is it. Your linebacker build is not supposed to be able to keep up with a halfback on a wheel route when the hb is 40 yards down the field... That is what safties are for.

Watch Tyler Mack

For instance... Enough speed to cover the Flat

Vision is key... MLB sees the play developing and takes the int

Again Vision... correct pursuit angle

Again vision... saw the qbs eyes and stepped in

Again vision plus stregth and speed sideline to sideline

The list goes on and on. Just don't dump your points into speed for lack of creative thinking. My speed and vision are even. This is my opinion for a Inside Linebacker

What's your vision at? Mines at 56, is yours higher or lower than that?

I just switched my EQ around and my guy looks like this:

Strength: 50.42
Blocking: 19.26
Speed: 67.8
Tackling: 50.32
Agility: 48.02
Throwing: 9
Jumping: 24.82
Catching: 20.84
Stamina: 34.47
Carrying: 9
Vision: 60.95
Kicking: 7
Confidence: 29.09
Punting: 7

I took the EQ off strength and put it on speed and took the EQ off agility and put it on vision. Is the agility or strength too low?

I think that looks good. Similar to my build.

I'd go speed over vision...but vision is good also, it's underrated. Good vision makes your player do things you take for granted some times.

Last season before Bort made an adjustment to vision, between 35-43 vision made my LB seem like he was on prozak. But once I got it to the soft cap he did alot better. Now he's seeing the plays happen like Staggarts showing with his (but no INTs yet lol) although I dont have it as high as Staggart. My atts are:

Strength: 40.77 Blocking: 18.77
Speed: 61.19 Tackling: 39.98
Agility: 54.58 Throwing: 7
Jumping: 23.91 Catching: 16.2
Stamina: 33.8 Carrying: 7
Vision: 51.35 Kicking: 8
Confidence: 34.28 Punting: 8
