I am even considering not attempting to address the problem that WR's are having not catching "open" passes (check the bugs forum) because if I do, there will be another rash of people crying foul about somehow WR's were made better or something.

Kind of funny, because he said this a couple of days ago:

You all do realize I didn't change the catching or throwing mechanics from last season, right?

Also, what is the QB's throwing style? Perhaps that has something to do with it? Are you all on "lofty" or "bullet" or what?

Bort.. with all due respect, you said that you were changing the completion percentage to WRs.

You said that you wanted WRs to catch about 50% of their deep passes..

Yeah, middle of last season. I had it about where I wanted it at that point after the update. It's the same now as it was since then. Only thing I updated recently was the pump fake length.

Honestly, folks, if there is a problem it's not intentional. I haven't made an updates to the passing/receiving portion of things for some time now, and I haven't seen this come up in any tests. I'm guessing that it's a particular combination of things coming together to give certain QB/WR pairs trouble (which would also explain why some people have absolutely no troubles at all), or it could just be that the replay isn't accurate enough to really show what's going on.

To me, it looks like the passes are all coming up short. The replay would end on the last play like that if the ball had hit the ground.

Note: I possibly have a lead on what's going on based on some code perusal for logic errors, but I could be completely off base, being kinda tired at the moment.

Running a bunch o tests with a modification to see (should be done when I get up, hopefully).

So to all of you that refuse to believe that there is ever a problem with GLB.. There you go.

Too late. I'm already unhappy with this game despite the numbers my WR puts up. It should not take the creator of the game 4 days of arguing before he admits there is a problem. Furthermore, saying he might not fix said problem is salt on the wound.

I've made my decision. I'm retiring my low-level guys. (Retired most of them yesterday). I'm using the FP on boosts for my high levels. When my high levels retire at the end of their careers, I leave the game. It's simple.

I agree completely.

It was bullshit for him to tell us that there was a problem, but that he might not even fix it..

This is a fucking business, we are customers - but he's going to refuse to fix a problem that we pay for?

So just like in the world of business, if you don't enjoy something, stop paying for it and stop using the service.

And...that's what we said we're doing...

Your point?

i mean, take what he said with a grain of salt, i dont really think hes saying that honestly. just venting a bit it seemed, everyone has bad days.

and im not one of those dudes who sucks on the teat of bort. he makes a lot of mistakes and makes poor decisions, just like anyone else. he had a good idea for a game that doesnt make him a modern day prometheus, just a dude with a good idea. that being said, a ton of people take everything he says literally.

Nothing ever stays the same. Change is inevitable. Look at World of Warcraft, that game has +7million players and generates over +$90 million a month and it is constantly changing. The programmers are constantly trying to balance things. No different from what Bort is doing, trying to find an equilibrium and balance.

Yet you're still here posting on this forum when the point was to quit.

I will quit. Just after I used up the FP that I already paid money for. No reason to just let it sit around. Do you want me gone from this game that bad? I thought I'd post that I was quitting and I'd get 100 "no one cares" replies. I feel loved.

You said you'll quit when your high levels retire at the end of their careers, so do you mean that you'll quit in like season 10?

its a matter of scale and disclosure. WOW players have way more skills/spells and, in general, are less reliant on any specific attribute/skill. 2ndly, the changes being made in GLB would cause HUGE uproars in wow. bort makes wholesale changes (and sorry compared to wow changes, the changes bort makes are reactionary and extreme) and while blizzard is far from perfect, theyre surgical in comparison.

But the biggest difference is disclosure. WoW, you know 1 str is 2 dps or 1 agility is .08 crit or what have you. Here we know, more is better MAYBE, SOMETIMES. its a lot easier to deal with changes when you know whats changes, how its different, and what you can now do to achieve the same affect. Imagine if all the skills on wow had the tooltip 'This spell does damage to another player' and instead of giving damage numbers you got damage adjectives. 'Your sinister strike ravages Mob6!'. You think people would actually stand for that?

Yup. Or 11-12 when their skills degrade too much.

Long time, right? Yeah. But with my other player retirements, I have enough to boost for a while, and I probably won't be spending nearly as much money as I could have spent on the game. I had 10 players. I'm down to 6. After this season, I'll be down to 5 (retiring another when the contract expires). I'll probably just keep my top 2 guys. I go from spending to boost 10 guys every season to mostly not spending to boost 2 guys every season (just using the 70% retirement return). Saves me a lot of money. Costs GLB money for being dumb about the problem. Costs them enough to hurt in the long run? No, not nearly.

I'm just asking because don't you think that by that time most of the problems will be fixed? I mean you're basically planning to leave in like 8 months time.

You would think that most of the problems would be eliminated by then, but they actually seem to create more problems than they fix every season.
