1. East Brewton Warbirds: This team is the favorite to win again this year. With the best secondary in the East, the competition will try to run and fail there too. With two easy games out of the way, they get their first true test of the year against the vastly improved Key West Corsairs.
2. Jersey Shore Hammerheads: A powerhouse the first few seasons, Hammerheads had an off season 4. They look like their back at the top, and ready to make some noise this season. Running a very good 2 QB system, they are lighting up the scoreboard. Their next game shouldn't be a problem against the rebuilding Alabama Thrashers.
3. Key West Corsairs: This team is a viable contender this year. Winning against two tough teams already, they look poised enough to give the Warbirds some competition in the regular season. This next game will show if they are a top four team, or just another discarded road kill of the Warbirds.
4. Indianapolis Inferno: The Inferno again looks to be a tough team. A great defense lead by SubZor, might be the best they have had since their inception. Two gritty victories into the season, they should have no problem with the Boone Drinkabeers.
5. Kansas Flashpoint: This team was geared to win it all last year, but fell short in the playoffs. With the likes of Ryan Terry and Hillbilly McGee on their O-Line, they have all the pieces in place to make a strong run this year. A small hiccup against the improved Key West Corsairs shouldn't discourage them. But their road to success will be tested once again as the head to meet the East Saint Louis Firebirds.
6. East Saint Louis Firebirds: With Ron Hinderliter leading this team, they are a forced to be reckoned with. Maybe the best passing team in the East, I expect their Pro Bowl QB to lead the east this year in TDs. Loseing to the Middle Tennessee Fightin' Catfish early in the season, this team needs to hunker down and get back to their magic they had last year. Their next game at home against the Kansas Flashpoint will defiantly be a game to watch. Game of the Week.
7. Middle Tennessee Fightin' Catfish: Arriving last season, this team looked loaded and ready to rumble at the season start. Either bad game planning or just bad luck, they didn't play to their full potential. With a victory over the East Saint Louis Firebirds already this season, it looks like they might have found the right ingredient they have been lacking. A tough game at home against the surging Youngstown Villains will clearly tell us if they are ready to compete against the East's best.
8. Youngstown Villains: This team started making its surge late last season. With a win against the Detroit Proletariat under their belt already, it doesn't look like their ready to stop. A home game against the Middle Tennessee Fightin' Catfish will let the East know they are for real.
9. Massachusetts Marauders: Another team with allot of potential, they played the Inferno hard their first game, but came up short. Paula Hemingway, a budding star already has 4 TD this season, and it doesn't look like he will stop there. They will get some steam and confidence next game as they host the Malibu Macaws.
10. Detroit Proletariat: Stunned by the Youngstown Villains in their first game, this team is better than they played. Rick Montana looks to have righted the ship against the Boone Drinkabeers, with a perfect 14/14 and 5 TD. They are favored in their next match against the Redridge Murlocs.
11. Bay City Bombers: A new team to the East this year, they have already broken their streak of 26 losses with a win against the Boone Drinkabeers. They have a loaded roster with allot of talent. I expect them to via for a playoff spot later in the season. Their next home game against the Hilo Storm should allow them the freedom to test some new tactics.
12. Redridge Murlocs: This team has improved from last year, but will it be enough. Playing two tough team already, they have the talent to compete this year with a few more free agent acquisitions. Their next game against the Detroit Proletariat could really shake up the rankings if they can pull a win off.
13. Boone Drinkabeers: This team was showing some spark at the start of last season, but with an owner change they have allot of rebuilding to do. They still have some talented players on their roster. They play the Inferno in Hell's Inferno Stadium this week.
14. Malibu Macaws: Another rebuilding team, they face a tough Massachusetts Marauders this week.
15. Alabama Thrashers: There is no mercy in site for this young team. Already played the Flashpoint and Warbirds, they now face the Hammerheads. Probably the tougest schedule so far.
16. Hilo Storm: This team is training and playing for next season. A home game against the Bay City Bombers will give them more experience, but not likely a win.
This took way longer than I expected it too when I started. If I continue this, know that the comment will begin to shorten.
