Okay, here it is...After the big announcement recently, here is the 1st issue of The Freedom Scrolls...Why do I hear crickets chirping?...You won't get all the prominent prose as you did from the Purple Penguin, but I'll try not to let you down...Let's get to it...
(8) Louisville Baby Kittens (1-0) vs. The State of Texas Domination (0-1)
Who gave the Baby Kittens the cupcake schedule to start this season? After crushing the Spirit of Saginaw in their first rebuilding game, the Baby Kittens get another softie...There is no way that Texas, with their overall pass defense of 12 is going to be able to stop the Kittens Fun 'n Gun offense...Expect to see the Kittens put up at least 900 passing yards...Kittens 225-Texas 0
(7) Baltimore Hustle (0-1) vs. Syracuse Samurai (1-0)
Another severe mismatch in this early season...The Samurai are coming off a severe dismantling of the newly relegated Clemson team, while the Hustle are coming off a severe dismantling at the hands of the Freedom Warriors...Syracuse has a very strong passing game and receiving corps, along with a huge bunch of heavies up front, and the Hustle isn't going to be able to handle that sort of aerial attack...The Hustle is going to be slowed down in a rough start to the season...Syracuse 72-Baltimore 3
(6) Houston Armageddon (1-0) vs. Richmond Empire (0-1)
After the CDavisArebel fiasco, Richmond is once again under new ownership...While the Empire appear to be an up and comer, there is no way that Armageddon is going to be averted in this game...The Empire have no known defense that is going to be able to keep them from falling like the Romans did way back in 1492 (am I getting my dates confused?)...Houston 63-Richmond 7
(5) Jax Beach Juggernaut (0-1) vs. Clemson Gamecock Kickers (0-1)
Despite the catchy name, Clemson is going to be kicking nobody anytime soon...Clemson lost mightily to the resurgent Samurai, and while they come to the 7 one season after Syracuse, they are nowhere the team that Syracuse is anymore...Jax Beach lost a tough game to an up and coming Cleveland team, and Cleveland is much better than Clemson looks to be for this early in the season...The Juggernaut easily steamroll Clemson in this one...Jax Beach 100-Clemson 10
(4) Cleveland Buckeyes (1-0) vs. Frostburg Bobcats (1-0)
Two teams both trying to prove that they belong with the Eastern Conference elite...Two teams that both won their first game when neither were expected to get many wins...Frostburg managed a close one against what appears to be a concerned new owner of the Domination...Cleveland pulled a shocker out against a Jax Beach team that is one of the elites...There's no way that this game is even going to be close...Expect this one to resemble Ohio State's butt-kicking at the hands of USC...Cleveland 59-Frostburg 7
(3) Deimon Devil Bats (0-1) vs. Saginaw Spirit (0-1)
I know, you're probably all wondering if I've gone off my rocker...Two teams at 0-1 are the 3rd best game this week?...This matchup is intriguing because Deimon took over the team late last season, and is working on re-building...Similar situation for Saginaw after the recent takeover by Jimo...This matchup will define both of these teams seasons for this year...Looking over the rosters, the Spirit have been doing a good job of recruiting new players, trading for players, and keeping some of the better players from the previous regime...Deimon still has a few steps to take...The Spirit will be re-kindled in Saginaw for this week at least...Saginaw 45-Deimon 24
(2) River City Ransom (1-0) vs. Appalachian Lycans (0-1)
What happened to Appalachian in week 1? Are they trying to hatch a nefarious plan to make us believe that they're not as good as we know they are? Something smells fishy coming from the mountains of North Carolina...River City is coming off the expected cake walk against Richmond, but they are still a very formidable opponent...This one has epic written all over it...I don't see Appalachian coming up short in two straight weeks...I see them keeping the Ransom from being paid...Appalachian 35-River City 31
(1) GAME OF THE WEEK: Red Bank Thundercats (1-0) vs. Lincoln Freedom Warriors (1-0)
Wow, a clash of the titans in week 2...Two teams that have long been among the elites in the Eastern Conference bump heads for early season bragging rights...Red Bank was came within a hair of a conference championship last year, and Lincoln is still figuring out the Baby Kittens...However, Lincoln re-tooled this year, shoring up some huge problem areas...The problem is, Lincoln had a pretty easy game in week 1 against Baltimore, while Red Bank had a great battle against a tough Appalachian team...While I would love to predict my team to win every one of their games, I prefer a team that's already been somewhat tested over a team that could take it easy...Red Bank 28-Lincoln 24
Wow, this is tougher than I thought...Makes me really appreciate what Knightman did for us last year...Hope you all enjoy...
