So what do you guys think of the new training? Personally, I would have liked to see the offense AI a bit more fleshed out first.

I think it's pretty stupid that in a football sim we can go shopping, but we can't choose which offensive formation we want....

True but you have to take in to account that the majority of players on this site only manage players and not teams...

True....but I don't really think the new training adds a whole lot more for them to do.

People who dont want to be a Owner, GM, OC, DC, Scout, Recruiter, Finace Dude, or generally involved enough in a team to be bored, are really not going to be bothered with understanding the new system, its long term implications for their player and team etc.

Focussed on the wrong people and fixed the wrong thing.

Yes players needed more to do, but they dont actually have more to do now, and its a damn site less like a Football sim than it has ever been.

If people were bored with playing a Football sim, then they were in the wrong place to begin with.

I agree, however as it says in the title "American Football MMORPG" (yeah yeah I know but still...). And I do think that this will make the game more appealing to the "casual" player than the hardcore strategy freaks and I do think that the majority of the players on this site falls into to former category.

I don't understand how this makes the game more appealing to the casual player.

So now they have a slightly different way to gain a skill point every 10 days. Ok....

It's still too early to tell, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this new training system will do nothing to appeal to the casual gamers, or the people getting bored with the game. It might be new and fun for about a half a season, and then we're going to see the same complaints as before.

I cant see how a convoluted system for training, that requires planing upto 80 game days ahead before you make your first move, is going to appeal to the casuals.

Nor will adding a 'Jock Strap of Infallible Urine Samples' or a 'Banshee Cheerleader of Death'.

Bottom line is they had a Sports sim with a social network included.

They didnt expand/refine the sport sim, and split the social network down the middle by enhancing the make believe RPG element.

Problem is the people who spent all that money up front did so because they dont like RPGs, and do like football.

QFT.
You can defend against shotgun but you can't set your team to use it... oh well, we'll see...

True that

I don't get any thrills from buying sim bling...would much rather have seen the Offensive tactics amped up to match D tactics.

Plus maybe my adult ADD is kicking in, but I don't see much fun in trying to figure out new training rules which will take me as long to read as War and Peace

The more complicated this game gets, the less fun it becomes.

Mike Rogers with a win? If my offense AI had as many options as the defense AI does, I'd be a happy camper. And I'm STILL waiting for my substitution rules to be input.

Formation subs is another thing that would have been better than "updated* training (+ shopping and mario tokens).
